DC STEAKHOUSE Charity Event March 9th

Looking for a fun way to spend a Sunday? How about a round of golf for a good cause? 

Here at DC Steakhouse, we host a golf game to help raise money for organ transplants and cystic fibrosis research here in Arizona. Both of these causes are close to our hearts. Over the last 40 years, our family has participated in or helped to organize fundraising events in both Wisconsin and Arizona. 

Our upcoming charity event is a golf shotgun, and it should be a lot of fun! For those who aren’t familiar, this is a tournament where several groups of players tee off from different holes simultaneously. We will be offering small prizes for the winners, and we’ll have some pretty cool auction items available as well. 

Golf for Two Good Causes

Cystic Fibrosis

This genetic condition causes bodily secretions to become overly thick and sticky. Cystic fibrosis damages the digestive system and organs like the lungs and pancreas. As time goes on, the damage becomes worse, and people with cystic fibrosis will usually need an organ transplant at some point in their lives. 

Research into screening and treatments can give people with cystic fibrosis a longer life expectancy than in previous generations. That is why donations for research are so important. 

Organ Transplants

Did you know that an organ transplant can cost anywhere from $400,000 to one million dollars? Anyone who needs this expensive treatment will not only have to undergo a risky surgery, they’ll also be facing a huge medical bill. 

This is why donations are so important. They can help lower the cost of organ transplants, or fund research that will make these operations safer or find new ways to improve longevity.

Both of these causes are close to our hearts which is why we try to find fun ways to raise money. This year’s golf shotgun will feature prizes for the winners. Along with an auction featuring some exciting things!
