Valentine’s day will be here soon—have you made special plans yet? Whether you wish to go on a date with your valentine, have a Galentine’s get-together, or spend time with your family, there’s plenty to do in the Downtown Chandler area. We put together this list of activities to enjoy with your loved ones this Valentine’s Day in Downtown Chandler.
Five Fun Valentine’s Day Activities in Downtown Chandler
1: View Some Art
Whether you’re an art aficionado or still a novice, visiting an art gallery is a great, affordable way to get to know your date. Viewing art is also a good conversation starter, and it will give you something to talk about over dinner.
In Downtown Chandler, you’ll find the Vision Gallery and The Gallery at the CCA (Chandler Center for the Arts). Both galleries display inspiring works of art from the local community and regional artists, and admission is free.
On Valentine’s day, you’ll be able to catch the “Daniel Nez: Fractal Lineage” exhibit that runs from February 11th to April 15th, 2023 at the Vision Gallery. The exhibit consists of beautiful, large-scale, loom art pieces that feature fragmented paintings.
Another free activity for art lovers to enjoy is the Chandler Museum. Also located downtown, it explores the history and culture of the people of Chandler. You’ll find works by local artists as well as traveling exhibits. The museum is closed on Mondays, but luckily Valentine's Day falls on a Tuesday in 2023.
2: Go Hiking
A beautiful view can make a romantic date, but hiking can also be a fun “Galentine’s Day” tradition. There are many gorgeous trails around Chandler that are perfect for hikers of all skill levels.
For instance, Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler has 4.5 miles of gorgeous hiking trails that take you through the Sonoran desert. You can also check out the Paseo Vista Recreation Area, which offers walking trails, a dog park, a playground, and a breathtaking view of the East Valley.
3: Walk Around the Park
If hiking isn’t your thing, you can enjoy a more leisurely walk through Dr. A.J. Chandler Park in the heart of Downtown Chandler. The park is surrounded by local shops, art galleries, and the San Marcos Resort, so you can easily make a whole day out of your visit.
And if you’re looking for something romantic to do the weekend after Valentine’s Day, check out the Fine Art and Wine Festival at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park. This annual event runs from February 17th to February 19th, 2023.
4: Go to Dinner and a Movie
